I've put this site up before but have recently come across a video clip as well so thought I'd post again. It's a fascinating site but it left me feeling suspicious that for all the good stuff he says about bitless, he has simply replaced the bit with some other form of aversive. But it was hard to tell from the still photos (give or take the odd whip, or was it a "carrot stick"?). Now, having seen the video clip I am even more suspicious. To me there is something very tense-looking about the horses and I would be very interested in seeing how he starts the training with a novice horse (won't be volunteering Jak though!). It reminds me of the finished product you get after lots of mechanical Parelli/CT training.

And as we've also said before, some interesting politics ("proper" politics, not horsey!) come up if you do a google search.

Would like to see him in real life though - it's certainly an incredible display of what horses can learn to do. And what human ego can drive you to want to do....

Hi,

I found his site a while ago & joined the 'school' - basically a forum with training tips. It's interesting & there are many, not just affiliated with him, there to learn from. I bought his DVD too, which only showed a little of the 'finished product'. Don't buy it if you're looking to learn of his methods, altho you'll learn of his teachers, such as Mario Luraschi & attitude towards 'sportsmen' & abuse.

I've heard others say their suspicious or such of him too. I don't know about that, but even if he is a 'fake' I think his principles are good & it is inspirational.<G>

Re the Parelli reference, having originally got into horsemanship pretty heavily with PNH, I've seen many types, including the mechanical ones. But I think there is a fundamental difference between PNH & Nevzorov. PNH aims to control & overcome many natural horsey behaviours, whereas N encourages horses to play & be full of themselves & he works with that. Not meaning to judge either there, BTW.

Respectfully
Anya

Hi Anya

Welcome to the THF and many thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I can see he is someone I need to learn much more about before forming a fair opinion. Is is forum something anyone can join or do you have to be a paid-up member?

Thanks
Catherine

Fab, thanks Mags. I've registered and have sent off my email requesting membership. Fingers crossed they accept me - I feel all nervous now, like waiting for exam results!
