Hello
Just thought I'd plug the next lecture I'm organising. This will be a day event 10-4 by David Appleby. Not horses, more dogs and cats but thought it might be of interest to some of you.

Details below and at www.learningaboutanimals.co.uk.

=========
Date: Saturday 24th March 2007
Time: 10am-4.00pm
Venue: Main Conference Room, Woking College. The venue is within 10 minutes walking distance of Woking railway station (20 minutes from Waterloo). By road, Woking is near junction 11 of the M25 and in easy access of the M3, M4 and A3.
Other: Refreshments will be provided but you should bring your own packed lunch, or it can be bought at a supermarket near the venue.

The focus of this workshop is how animals learn and how we can use this information to plan training.

David has been in practice as a pet behaviour counsellor since 1986. He runs the Pet Behaviour Centre in Worcestershire, is the visiting behaviour counsellor at Cambridge University, the Hon. Secretary for the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC) and membership secretary for Companion Animal Behaviour Therapy Study Group (CABTSG). He is active in research, a frequent lecturer at home and overseas, contributes to a number of journals and lectures on the postgraduate diploma/MSc course for pet behaviour counselling at Southampton University.

The workshop will be fascinating for pet owners, trainers, fellow animal behaviourists, people involved with rescue centres, dog wardens, veterinary personnel, and anyone with an interest in animal behaviour.

Ticket price £40 (£35 if you work or volunteer for an animal-related charity) only available in advance. Places are limited to 25 so book early.

Send cheque payable to ‘Learning About Animals’ to Suzanne Rogers, Learning About Animals, 14 Alexandra Road, Addlestone, Surrey, KT15 2PE. Please enclose your contact details (e-mail ideally to save trees) so I can send confirmation and directions.

This is now sold out and I'm turning people away so please don't send me a cheque to register. It might be repeated later in the year.
