What Science can tell us about the Intelligence of Dogs
Saturday 20th June 2009, The Wheatsheaf Pub Function Room, Woking, Surrey
2 pm - 4.30pm

This event will explore what science can tell us about the intelligence of dogs. The talk will cover the following main topics:

- the history of dog cognition research (Pavlov, Koehler...)
- problem solving in dogs
- detours
- social cognition (between dogs and with humans)
- miscellaneous, such as counting, odour detection etc.

The speaker: Dr Britta Osthaus, lecturer and researcher in animal cognition at Christ Church University, will discuss dog intelligence in this lively and interactive morning.

Woking, Surrey is in easy access of the M25, M3 and M4 and in walking distance of the railway station.

Tickets £12 for the afternoon - only available in advance. £10 concessions (OAPs, students and people who work or volunteer for rescue/animal welfare organisations).
