I'm looking for a hair twin. Madeleine, we might be somewhat similar, though I don't have red henna in my hair. I'm 1Cii (but really on the border between i and ii), and my hair would be dark ash if I stayed out of the sun. When it lightens, I tend to look blonder rather than reddish.

I relate to Feye's hair as well.

Merryrose, if you say 1Cii, do you mean ...

... 1C as in "mostly straight with a slight wave" or "straight (type 1) with coarse (C) individual strands"?
The first option together with fine strands would indeed be the same type as mine
How long is your hair?

It would be so cool to find a twin!

Cheers,
Madeleine

I said C because my hair has a slight wave in it,which I can comb out to wear basically straight.

I'm sure you're ahead of me in the length department. I'm only around eighteen inches, just a couple of inches below my shoulder. But, I'm going to let it keep growing for a while.

Did I pick up that you are in Germany? Are you German born? Of all my grandparents, I think I get my hair most from my father's mother, who came from generations of German-American stock.

Our hair types sound slightly similar, I think. I also have some wave. It waves more around my face and less in the back. And our hair colours are similar too, it seems. But my hair is not fine, it's of medium strand thickness, with a few fine to coarse hairs mixed with the medium ones.
It's hard to find an exact hair twin... I think those who do are very lucky

Sounds we have pretty similar hair, yay!

Here's a pic of my hair down (it has grown down to BS since but other that that it looks pretty much the same now):

You can see my really thin ends - the trouble is that I have no idea if regular trimming would help to thicken them, or if I'm doomed to stay at just below the shoulder in order to have reasonably hair density all the way. I'm constantly pondering to hack four inches off, but then I won't be able to do all those updos anymore that I love. Probably going to stay at BS for a while and trim off new growth.

It's cool that you have German ancestors! Maybe we're not only hair twins, but distant relatives as well

Cheers,
Madeleine

So, we need to trade hair routines.

I don't have a current photo of my hair, other than the hair typing one I did. Since it wasn't combed or brushed, it doesn't really look like my hair does on a daily basis. But, you can take a peak at T-bear's category one listing and see what my hair looks like when it's totally unkempt.

I'll take a new one in a few days and post it.

Are you related to any Wagners or Wolfs in Germany? Here in Tennessee, we say Waag-ner, like wagon (try to imagine a Southern American drawl)not Vag-ner, like the composer. The other three quarters of my heritage is mostly Scotch-Irish, with a little Welsh and English thrown in.

By the way, I have a good friend who lives here in Nashville who went to the University of Heidleburg. (spelling?).

Routines ...

I had a look at your pictures - my hair is a little less wavy and thinner at the ends than yours (and the natural colour a bit darker), but still pretty close

Regarding routines - I've had great success with C/O (LisaJaney's variation) and vinegar rinses. Have you tried either of those?
What's your routine?

Heidelberg is a cute little town BTW, my b/f studied there

Cheers,
Madeleine
