He was pacing

Response to With Beathan astride

He was pacing restlessly, while the girl sat quietly waiting. Beathan couldn't remember a single time in the past five hundred years or so, that he felt so nervous and unsure o himself. He knew what the other dragons expected of him, and this was the first time since the death of Lady Elspeth, who had filled a dual role in his life, that he had even considered the possibility to have a companion. Beathan had become a bit of a loner, fairly content to be in human form and he liked it that way.

It was not only Lisa's resemblance to Elspeth, but the surfacing memories of a former existence, that he had felt dawning within her the first moment they had met. Memories he had suppressed in her mind. That was one thing he must definitely remedy.

Purposefully he strode to the old stone bench, his hand lightly touching Lisa's forehead as he seated himself next to her. He watched with interest as her usual calm expression slowly changed to one of wonder. Taking her hand, he rose.

"Come with me."
