Z24 OWNERS OPINION

i am lookin to buy a 1997-2000 cavalier. but i dont know what the difference is between a regular cavalier and a z24.
what is the stock horse power on a regular cavalier and what is it on a z24 cavalier?
what year cavalier do most of you cavalier owners reccomend and is the z24 worth buying or is the regular cavalier engine easily upgraded into a z24?
