Victoria blackmails Gladys into staying on the ranch with the knowledge that Alex isn’t a Montero. Gladys tries to convince her it’s not true and Victoria suggests a DNA test. Diego is angry that the officials are there to inspect his ranch, but German assures him that there aren’t any problems for the inspectors to discover. Diego invites them to inspect the ranch and they tell him it’s a routine inspection, but diego believe Montero is behind it.
Don G tells Amalia to behave. Don G’s toleration of Amalia makes Isabela and Christa wonder what secrets they’re hiding and Christa says that not even Gladys knows why he tolerate her. Lucrecia and Gonzalo think they should be very cautious with Patricio and Macario because they want to insure Don G’s fortune falls into the right hands, his and Lucrecia. Gonzalo tells Lucrecia that his son is the only good thing in his life and he doesn’t want his plans with Lucrecia and Don G’s fortune to ruin Alex. Lucrecia and Gonzalo share a glass of wine as they discuss the fact that Patricio and Macario that they are being used are going to unknowingly hand them (Lucrecia and Gonzalo) Don G’s fortune. Alex finds Carolina
Patricio talks to Macario about seducing Isabela. Victoria learns that the reason Gladys wants her to leave is because of Gonzalo and that Renato will kill them all and Victoria insists that she doesn’t want Gonzalo and that it‘s Gonzalo that wants her. Renato threatens Christa over the telephone and tells them that he has spies everywhere. Gladys thinks Renato’s the one that told Victoria that Alex isn’t a Montero but Victoria doesn’t correct her.
Gonzalo and Lucrecia decide to return to their roles as the “Drunk One and the Bitter Crazy One” and go to the dining room. Ruben yells at Constanza when Miguel marches in and confronts Ruben about going to town with Don G and says Don G asked him to go personally and throws him out. Christa gets Don G alone and tries to seduce her and Don G tells her Isabela had a fight with one of the employees. Amalia thanks Carolina for being her friend and tells her that Don G would never kick her off the ranch because there’s a link between them and when Carolina asks if she’s his lover, she laughs and says no.
Diego jumps the fence onto the Montero land. Martin and Florencia arrive. Diego asks for Don G and Lucrecia thinks that he’s there to ask for her hand in marriage, but he corrects her. Christa’s attempt at seduction are stopped by Don G and she tells him that she’ll come to his room that night. He tells her to make sure no one sees her and she says she will and that she won’t be like Amalia who sleeps with Macario. Don G is surprised at that knowledge.
Victoria tells Carolina that they’re staying almost lets it slip that she’s planning revenge and tells Carolina that now they have time for her to get with Alex. Carolina that Alex might have been a relative of hers, but Victoria tells her it’s not true. Carolina tells her that it’s better that she forgets Alex. Isabela talks bad about Amalia and wishes they would be fired and she makes him angry. Don G tells Christa that Amalia isn’t necessarily a servant but doesn’t answer when she asks what she is. Miguel confronts his father as Macario and Patricio finds Diego in the living room. Don G slaps Miguel and tells him he can do whatever he wants.
Patricio and Macario tells Diego he’s not welcome and Martin stops them from fighting. Lucrecia goes to get her father. Don G and Diego come face to face. Don G tells Diego that he doesn’t talk to murderers and Diego asks if he’ll talk to him if he offered to sell his ranch. Carolina tries to convince Victoria to leave. Everyone wonders what’s wrong with Gladys. Alex stop his parents from fighting. Victoria orders Carolina to fight for Alex. Martina arrives and tells Victoria she’s expected at the main house. Don G announces that Diego is joining the celebration and that Diego has decided to sell his ranch. They raise their glasses in a toast.
Lucrecia thinks Diego’s selling his ranch because of her and that he wants to marry her and will ask her father for her hand in marriage. Don G makes fun of Martin and says that if his paintings don’t sell, he’ll be living on the ranch with everybody else, but Martin informs them that he’s a director of an art museum and that his paintings don’t have to sell and that he supports his family. The Monteros and Diego take their seats around the table.
Macario can’t wait for the day when he can sit at the main table and Patricio tells him it’ll all be theirs soon before he asks Alex to introduce him to his girlfriend. Amalia thinks Victoria wants Carolina to marry Alex for his money. Don G toasts Isabela and says he hopes the wedding is very soon. Martin invites Diego to see his work and Lucrecia decides she’ll go with him whenever he decides to go.
When Victoria arrives, Diego remembers what Maria told him about Victoria wanting to protect her feelings from him and wonders if Victoria’s afraid to fall in love with him. Carolina assures Amalia that her mother doesn’t want her to marry Alex for his mother. Isabela and Alex kiss at the table, Diego congratulates them.
Before he leaves, Diego tells Victoria that he wants to speak to her later and that it’s really important. Diego and Don G meet privately and Don G asks him what he wants for Los Encinos and Diego tells him he’s not selling it.
