After Don G leaves her room, Victoria seethes and says that soon Don G will discover who she really is: Luisa Dominguez. Gonzalo asks Don G what he wanted with Victoria and Don G tells him that he doesn’t want him to behave with Victoria the way he treats all the other women who work at the ranch and calls Gonzalo a drunk. Martin tells Diego about Don Chema and that the old man has lived there for a long time and can read cards. Gonzalo shows up at Carolina’s drunk and asks her what Don G wanted to talk to her about. She tells him that he wanted to talk to her about Alex and Carolina. She tries to get him to leave, but he closes the door and tells her it’s time for them to be together.
Gladys thinks about sleeping with Renato and then asks herself why Gonzalo never wanted her. Victoria changes tactics and locks the door and proposes that they toast their first time together and pours him a glass of brandy, thinking to herself, “I hope you die of alcohol poisoning…”. Victoria gives Gonzalo more alcohol and they salute to the fact that he will now be free of Gladys so that they can finally be together. Amalia goes looking for Lucrecia, but finds German’s room instead. She finds his jeans on the floor just as he walks in naked. They scream and Flora and Carolina hear them downstairs. German asks her why she’s there and she tells him. He takes his pants from her and starts to put them on. He tells her to let him get dressed and he’ll take her to see Lucrecia. Amalia smiles at him and tells him he’s got a nice body just as Flora and Carolina walk in, with German zipping up his pants.
Don G asks Macario what happened with Lucrecia and tells him that if she doesn’t do what he told her to do, he’ll have Diego killed. Amalia tells Flora that she and Carolina didn’t want to cause more problems between the two ranches. Flora comments that Carolina doesn’t have to sneak onto the ranch like some kind of delinquent because she knows she’s always welcome there. She tells Amalia to go to the kitchen and meet Lucrecia there to deliver her message. On her way out, Amalia pauses to gaze back at German; they share a smile and when she leaves, Flora comments that they already have to deal with Lucrecia’s craziness and hopes they don’t have to deal with Amalia as well. German says nothing.
Amalia and Carolina meet Flora and Lucrecia in the kitchen and Amalia tells them that Don G is threatening to kill Diego if she doesn’t drop the charges against him. In his office, Diego tells German that he got some info from Martin that could be important as German produces blankets and a pillow so that Diego can sleep in the office. He tells Diego about the letter that was delivered to him from someone named Claudio. Diego doesn’t want to be reminded of his past, but tells German that someone will have to go and pick up Claudio and bring him to Los Encinos because he has nowhere else to go, but wants German to be sure to tell Claudio not to tell anyone that he was once in jail. German is surprised that Diego still refuses to tell Victoria about his past, but Diego tells him that he doesn’t want to bring his past into his present and that it’s best if she doesn’t know about it yet.
Gonzalo passes out on Victoria’s bed and she pulls out a knife and holds it over him, but can’t bring herself to kill him, saying that she’s not a murderer and that she hates him. She says that there are many ways to die, but she wants Gonzalo to see him suffer more than she wants to see him dead. Ruben attends to Don G and Don G tells him he wants to know everything about Diego’s past and to tell Macario to bring him Lucrecia’s message as soon as he gets it. Macario tells Miguel that he is worried because Amalia hasn’t returned yet and wonders if Diego’s capable of hurting her or Carolina. Miguel asks Macario which of the two he likes the most and Macario tells him he likes both and that he wants one for his wife and the other as his lover. Miguel asks how he expects to accomplish that and Macario tells him not to worry about it and that one day when they get the Montero ranch and Ibarra’s ranch, he’ll have both Carolina and Amalia to himself.
Amalia and Carolina leave the Ibarra ranch and Flora confronts Lucrecia about the situation she’s put Diego in and Lucrecia wishes she knew how and when Don G would try to kill Diego. Flora wonders if Amalia knew something else that she didn’t want to tell them. Diego tells German that he hopes that Claudio really has changed and when German asks if it’s a good idea to let Claudio live there, Diego tells him that when they were younger, promised to always protect Claudio and refuses to break his promise. German tells him that he can’t protect Claudio from himself, just as no one can protect Lucrecia from herself. Diego asks if German really thinks Lucrecia is capable of trying to stay there indefinitely and German believes so, telling him that Lucrecia is set on trapping him.
Diego tells him that that will never happen as Lucrecia tells Flora that they have to find Diego and tell him what happened. Flora tells her that she has to do what her father wants her to do and Diego tells German that if she isn’t gone in two days, he’s going to have to have a serious talk with her. He thinks about how jealous Victoria was the other day and tells German that he has no doubt that Victoria loves him. Victoria finds Edelmiro and Rocio in the kitchen together and ask for their help in getting Gonzalo out of her room because he‘s drunk and sleeping in her bedroom. They are shocked.
Carolina and Amalia find Gonzalo in Victoria’s bed, snoring. Flora tells Lucrecia that it’s best if she does what her father asked her to do and leave the ranch. Lucrecia asks her if she’ll give her the name of the woman Diego’s in love with if she promises to leave the ranch. She begs her, but Flora refuses to tell her. Victoria, Edelmiro, and Rocio arrive to carry Gonzalo out of the room and Victoria assures all, including Carolina and Amalia, that nothing happened between them. Carolina and Amalia find Macario and Amalia tells him that Lucrecia knows what Don G is capable of and they all hope that Lucrecia gives them a response by tomorrow. Amalia comments that it isn’t right that Diego’s life is in danger.
Flora continues to refuse to tell Lucrecia the other woman’s name and tells her that if she doesn’t do what her father ordered her to do, then she and German will have to find a way to protect Diego because even though Lucrecia claims to love him, she doesn’t love him enough to keep him from being hurt. She leaves Lucrecia alone. Carolina asks Amalia if Don G is capable of killing someone but Amalia doesn’t answer her. Carolina decides to leave, but Amalia stops her, reminding her that Gonzalo might still be in her room. Amalia explains to Macario that Gonzalo was drunk and passed out in Victoria’s bed. Victoria, Edelmiro, and Rocio take Gonzalo to the main house and Victoria thanks Edelmiro and he leaves the ranch. Victoria realizes that she’s found the perfect way to keep Gonzalo away from her: keep him drunk.
Macario offers to walk Carolina home, tells Amalia to wait for him and she tells him that she’s going to prepare herself for their night together. Macario leaves with Carolina as Rocio warns Victoria that people will talk about Gonzalo being in her room and sleeping in her bed. Gladys is ready to leave and Renato kisses her, telling her that he’ll go to see Diego tomorrow and find out what he can because now they know that he’s Victoria’s accomplice. Christa witnesses their interaction. Renato gets a phone call and Christa confronts Gladys for sleeping with Renato and tells her that she’s really in love with him. Gladys isn’t impressed when she thinks Christa’s threatening and thinks Christa’s gone crazy and wonders how she could possibly love Renato when all he does is beat her. Christa insists that her feelings for him are true and begs Gladys not to forget that the only man she really loves is her husband, Gonzalo.
Macario walks Carolina home and she tries to get rid of him, but he takes the opportunity to tell her that he loves her and wants her to be his wife. Edelmiro goes to see Diego and Diego finds out that Gonzalo came to Victoria’s room drunk and slept in her bed. Diego is enraged and asks him what happened. Edelmiro is frightened and tries to leave, but Diego makes him stay, demanding to know what happened. Edelmiro tells him that Victoria came to ask him and Rocio to help her get him out of her room, saying that Gonzalo arrived there drunk and passed out on her bed and he’s sure nothing else happened between them. Diego asks him what the hell Gonzalo was doing in “…el cuarto de mi mujer!”
Gladys arrives home and finds Gonzalo drunk and sleeping in the living room. She says out loud that she’s not going to be faithful to Gonzalo anymore. Constanza walks into the room and asks her to repeat what she said. Gladys looks like a deer caught in the headlights as Renato plots and schemes with Christa. Her jealousy of Gladys makes Renato lose his patience with her and he slaps her. She yells at him, telling him that Gladys likes him, but that she’s crazy in love with her husband. She manages to anger him even more and he picks up an apple, but stops himself from throwing it while she cowers on the couch in fear.
Gladys realizes that Constanza didn’t hear what she said and covers, saying that she was just murmuring about Gonzalo because it upsets her every time she sees him drunk as Edelmiro tries to calm Diego down. Edelmiro assures Diego that Victoria loves him and Diego tells him to get out. “Get out! I want to be alone!” He can’t believe what’s happening and says to himself, “It’s impossible. Victoria loves me. There’s no way that she could be with Gonzalo Montero.”
Victoria, disgusted, changes the sheets on her bed. Then, she daydreams about kissing Diego as Amalia decides she’s going to dress up like a spy for Macario. While she picks out her disguise, Macario continues to try to convince Carolina to marry him. She tells him that he’s her best friend’s boyfriend and she’s with Alex and orders him to leave her alone. She tries to walk past him, but he picks her up and brings her back to face him. He tells her he’s not going to let her leave until they clear a few things up and tells her that Amalia isn’t going to be a problem for them because it’s going to be their little secret. He tells her that she’s in his heart and informs her that he’s used to waiting however long it takes to get what he wants. He tells her that she will not have sex with Alex and she tells him that he can’t tell her what she can and can’t do.
Isabela sneaks into Alex’s room and climbs into bed with him, mauling him with her hands as he begs her to leave. Carolina stands her ground and tells Macario that it’s none of his business what she does with Alex. Alex continues to refuse her, telling her that he doesn’t like women like her. Isabela continues to kiss and grope Alex. She climbs on top of him and he seems to be losing his battle against her seduction.
