Diego thinks about Victoria as Lucrecia threatens his life to Victoria. Flora and Diego talk about the ranch and she asks him about Victoria. He tells her that it’s best he concentrates on his ranch and keeping Don G’s hands off of it. Don G and Ruben are together when Don G is informed that his lawyer has arrived. Ruben asks why he asked for his lawyer and thinks that perhaps Don G is going to push Alex aside and make Gerardo his heir. Patricio greets the lawyer outside and listens as Don G tells his lawyer that he wants Patricio to be the executor of his estate, but for the time being, Alex will remain his heir.
Amalia tells Carolina that she thinks that Macario wants her to share him with another woman as Macario gets a phone call from Patricio telling him that their plan is working. When they hang up, they both think that they can’t trust the other as Amalia and Carolina talk about Amalia’s situation with Macario. Amalia decides to speak to him about their relationship and Carolina tells her that Macario isn‘t worth it. Miguel goes tot see Macario and learns what Patricio has managed to do. Miguel says that after his father dies, Alex will have an “accident” and Patricio will name Miguel the heir.
Lucrecia tells Constanza that she spoke with Victoria and hit her; her sister points out the advantages Victoria has over Lucrecia--Diego loves her and she can go and see Diego whenever she wants and Lucrecia can‘t because if she does, Don G will kill her and Diego. Lucrecia realizes that she needs to speak with Victoria again and forbid her from seeing Diego again. Victoria tells Carolina that Lucrecia knows about her and Diego and that they have to be careful when Rocio comes to tell Victoria that Lucrecia is angry and wants to see her again.
Gladys finds Renato and Isabela in the living room and Renato orders her to tell him what’s going on between her and Gonzalo. Gladys asks Isabela to leave, but Renato doesn’t see the need for Isabela to leave and tells Gladys that he wants to see her in his apartment that afternoon. Gladys doesn’t want to, but he threatens to reveal that he’s Alex’s father and not Gonzalo. He asks where Carolina is and she tells him that she’s probably working in the stables with the horses and he leaves to go find her as Isabela warns Gladys against disobeying Renato.
Victoria enters Lucrecia’s room without knocking and asks, irritated, what Lucrecia wants now. Lucrecia tells her not to barge into her room ever again without knocking and without her authorization. Victoria tells her to stop being silly and tell her what she wants. Lucrecia tells her to stay away from Diego or she’ll tell her father to kill him because she would rather see him dead than with another woman. Renato finds Carolina working and asks her how much money it would take to get her to leave Alex alone. Carolina tells him that she won’t take money because she loves Alex and when he expresses his doubts that Victoria is her mother, she tells him that it’s not true and tells him that she can’t be bought.
Gladys tells Isabela that Renato needs to understand that she’s married and isn’t one of his women and Isabela tells her that the only woman Renato is really interested in is Victoria. Victoria tells Lucrecia that she’s not going to be threatened and that if Lucrecia really loves Diego, she needs to find another way to get him. Lucrecia learns from Victoria that Florencia warned her to be careful with her sister.
Florencia can’t concentrate at work as she thinks about Lucrecia’s threats. Alex comes to see her and she tells him that she’s worried and that he should warn Victoria that Lucrecia knows about her and Diego and that Lucrecia is capable of just about anything. Alex hopes that Lucrecia doesn’t bring Carolina into the situation as well. Carolina tells Renato to go away and that he’s not going to break her and Alex up and he threatens her but she tells him that she’s not afraid of him. He insists that Isabela will win in the end.
Bianca’s friends convince her to call Claudio as Edelmiro asks Claudio why he went to prison--did he do something or was he innocent? Maria listens in the background as Claudio tells him that he did something but he is still innocent. Gerardo tells his grandfather the truth about why he was late coming to work and talks about how he doesn‘t want his father to beat his mother and sister. Don G doesn’t understand his concern for his mother and sister. He asks Don G if he ever beat his wife Teresa and Don G tells him that he didn’t have to because Teresa was a wonderful woman and he says he respects strong women. He comments that the only one of his daughters who is strong and deserving of his respect is Florencia and says that Florencia is good at her job.
Lucrecia feels betrayed by Florencia and vows to hurt her sister by breaking up her marriage. She leaves and goes to see Martin. Alex and Ruben and Florencia are in her office talking and Ruben makes a comment about how women shouldn’t be in the work place and Florencia tells him that the only people who don’t belong in the workplace are the incompetents. Alex tries to defuse a potentially explosive situation but Ruben tells Florencia that women belong at home, cooking and cleaning and taking care of their families. Alex stops her from lunging at Ruben and pulls her out of the room. Renato tells Gladys and Isabela that Carolina wouldn’t take the money he offered her. Gladys is sure that Victoria is keeping a secret and Renato vows to get rid of Victoria and Carolina.
Alex calms his aunt Florencia down. Florencia tells him that she has a bad feeling about Lucrecia. He tells her that Victoria is capable of defending herself and she tells him that she’s worried about Lucrecia, not Victoria. She tells him that she thinks Lucrecia might ruin her marriage. Lucrecia arrives at Martin’s and he’s not happy to see her. He hesitantly lets her in and when she tells him that Florencia has a secret that she’s been keeping from him since before they were married, he tells her he doesn’t want to hear anymore of her lies, he won’t believe anything she says and tries to throw her out. She shoves past him and announces that Florencia had a daughter by another man before she married him. He’s shocked as she reveals the whole story to him. She tells him that since the day Florencia married him, she’s been trying to pretend like none of it ever happened, but admits that they did look for Mariana and Luisa, but they both disappeared.
Carolina tells Amalia that Renato offered her money in order to leave Alex and tried to make her think that Victoria isn’t really her mother. Amalia tells her that she’ll have to get used to Gladys, Christa, Isabela, and Renato trying to break them up. Diego goes riding and finds Victoria on his land. She tells him that she came to warn him about Lucrecia’s threat. She begs him to be careful with Lucrecia and Don G because Don G is capable of doing anything, even cold-blooded murder. He tells her that he’s not afraid of Lucrecia and Don G, but there‘s someone he has to be even more careful of. He tells her that the only person he has to be wary of is her (Victoria) because when they’re together, he loses all control of his emotions. Alex doesn’t think Lucrecia has the power to destroy Florencia’s marriage and tells her that when he and Carolina get married, he wants to live just like her and Martin. He tells her that he’s proud of her and that she’s the strongest of all his aunts.
Gerardo defends his mother to Don G, but Don G calls her a coward and weak as Constanza tells Bianca that she’s going to confront Ruben and try to make him stop pressuring Gerardo. Bianca tells her mother that she met a guy at the café and tells her how he defended her when her father mistreated her. Constanza vows not to let her daughter be forced into marriage with anyone. After poisoning his mind against Florencia, Lucrecia leaves Martin alone. Martin decides he needs a friend to talk to and grabs the phone.
Diego tells Victoria thanks for warning him about Lucrecia, but he’s not worried about her and the only person he worries about is her (Victoria). He tells her how much he needs and loves her and teat he’d do anything for her. He tells her to tell him her secret and offers to help her, and she FINALLY reveals that she once worked on the Montero ranch and Gonzalo raped her. She tells him the story about how her grandmother was sick and she needed to borrow a horse to go and get her a doctor. Diego is shocked.
Gonzalo goes to his father’s office, and tries to find the courage to talk to his father. He tells the secretary that he’ll wait for Don G to finish his meeting. Don G is disappointed that Gerardo got drunk and showed up late for work. Gerardo apologizes and tells him that he’s trying to change, but it’s not easy. Claudio talks to Edelmiro about Bianca as Maria watches in the background. Edelmiro tells Claudio about how bad Ruben treats Bianca and asks if Claudio likes her. Claudio admits that he does like her, but tells him that he promised Diego not to get involved with her and won’t break his promise. Edelmiro tells him that he should never have promised such a thing.
Don G tells Gerardo that he probably shouldn’t tell his father the truth as to why he was late getting to work and comments that perhaps Gerardo is worth more than they thought and he might just be Don G’s new heir if he plays his cards right.
Victoria tells Diego that not only did Gonzalo rape her, but Don G burned her grandmother alive. Gonzalo tells his father that he wants to divorce Gladys and marry another woman. Don G refuses to permit such a thing and vows that there will never be a divorce in the Montero family. Gonzalo tells him that the only reason he married Gladys was because Don G forced him and Gonzalo has given him a grandson and heir and there’s no other reason for him and Gladys to stay married since they’re not having any more children. Don G tells him that it’s not going to happen and that the other woman he wants to marry will just have to be content with simply being Gonzalo’s mistress.
Renato tells Gladys that since she and Victoria are so close, she’ll have to help him get rid of her by discovering what it is that Victoria is hiding. Victoria goes into detail about her grandmother’s death as Macario, Patricio, and Miguel continue to plot and plan. Victoria tells Diego that there’s nothing he can do to help her and she can’t got to the police because it happened twenty years ago and no one would help her now because everyone is afraid of Don G. She tells him that he has to keep his distance but he refuses. She finally convinces him not to get involved and he tells her that he’ll wait for her however long it takes and that when it’s all over, they are going to get married. He tells her not to mention Lucrecia again, because he’ll never get involved with her. She tells him that her revenge could take a long time, but he doesn’t care how long it takes and tells her that the only thing that could stop him from marrying her is death.
Lucrecia arrives home and tells Constanza that she just came from seeing Martin and Constanza wonders what Lucrecia has done now. Don G tells Florencia that Gonzalo wants a divorce, but he refuses to allow a divorce to occur in his family.
Victoria reveals that as a result of what Gonzalo did, she was left pregnant. Diego can’t believe that she would allow Carolina to be romantically involved with her half-brother, but she tells him that Carolina isn’t Gonzalo’s child and that her other child died. Gonzalo tells Lucrecia what he told his father, but still wishes he was as courageous as Lucrecia. He reveals that he’s in love with Victoria and that Victoria loves him, too, and that they spent the night together. Lucrecia is shocked to hear this and asks tells him that Diego is in love with her. Gonzalo is upset that Diego’s in love with her. Lucrecia decides to lie and tells him that Victoria doesn’t want Diego. She tells him that Victoria told her herself that she was in love with Gonzalo and didn’t want anything to do with Diego. Gonzalo calms down as Victoria tells him that Diego has to know that he and Victoria are together so that he can stop wanting to be with Victoria.
Victoria insists that it’s best that Diego forgets about her, but tells him that if he grows tired of waiting, she won’t blame him. He tells her that he’ll wait as long as he has to and makes her promise to tell him if she ever feels she’s in danger and needs help. She promises and they kiss. Claudio finds them kissing and tells Diego that he got a phone call from Martin. Miguel says that they have to be careful with his sisters because they could cause problems with their plans. Macario says they don’t have to worry about Constanza getting in their way, or Lucrecia because she’s crazy. He thinks Florencia could be their biggest threat among the three. Patricio thinks other wise. He thinks Lucrecia is the one to watch and thinks that she simply waits for the moment when she can get her hands on Don G’s fortune.
Alex and Carolina are fishing when he tells her that Lucrecia knows about her mother and Carolina thinks it may be best if she and her mother left the ranch. He begs her not to leave because he can’t live without her and they kiss. Diego tells Claudio that he was wrong when he told him not to get involved with Bianca Montero and insists that Claudio forget his promise to leave her alone. Claudio is very happy. Diego meets Martin in a bar and learns what Lucrecia told him about Florencia and the daughter she had. Diego asks him what he’d do if Lucrecia’s story turns out to be true. Martin says that he’d leave Florencia forever.
At home, Florencia worries about Martin. When he arrives, she rushes up to try to hug him, but he stops her, asking if she had a child with another man before she married him. She tells him it’s true and he tells her that he wants a divorce.
