Carolina refuses to leave the Montero ranch without Victoria and vows to make Amalia see what kind of person Macario is and that she didn‘t betray her. Amalia asks Rocio to call Bianca for her and tells Rocio that she and Carolina are no longer friends. Victoria continues to try to convince Carolina to leave, but she refuses. Bianca tells Amalia that she knows what happened with Carolina and offers her support. Amalia tells her that she doesn’t need her help. Carolina goes back to work as Victoria wonders how she will get Carolina to leave the ranch.
Gonzalo agrees to wait until the next day to confront Victoria and blackmail her. Lucrecia agrees to help him. Diego goes to see Victoria and tries to convince her to leave the Montero ranch and come and live at his ranch. Martina finds Carolina crying and rubs salt in her wounds, then suggests they be friends now that Amalia and Carolina are no longer friends. Carolina is annoyed. Lucrecia learns from Constanza that Florencia didn‘t believe her and will continue to search for her daughter and tries to get Constanza to help her stop Florencia. Constanza becomes suspicious, but Lucrecia sticks to her story. Victoria accuses Diego of wanting his wife and lover under the same, but he insists that he simply doesn’t want to see her or Carolina hurt. She resents him meddling in her life. Diego threatens to tell Carolina the truth about her maternity if Victoria doesn’t agree to move to Los Encinos and leaves her cabin. Florencia tells the investigator the story that Lucrecia told her and he promises to speak to Lucrecia and investigate further.
Alex tells Gonzalo that he plans to make Carolina see that her betrayal meant nothing to him and that he and Isabela are back together. He tells Gonzalo that Isabela knows that he doesn’t love her and he doubts he ever will love her. Isabela is sure that she’s got Alex in her hands but Christa warns her against being involved with Patricio. Miguel tells Patricio and Macario that in return for making him a Montero, he had to give up his claim on the inheritance. They aren’t pleased. They argue and they call Miguel an idiot for falling for Don G’s ploy, but Miguel refuses to give up his chance at having his father’s last name.
Gladys continues to get Don G to force Gonzalo to stay married to her. She tells him that Renato is waiting outside to talk to him about business. She tells him that Renato has a lot of money and wants to invest. Don G wonders what Renato really wants from him. Renato enters the room as Macario and Patricio argue with Miguel. Don G tells Renato that it looks like Isabela and Alex will get back together and tells Renato what happened with Alex and Carolina. Don G tells Renato to speak to Ruben and Alex about investing in his business and they’ll decide what to do. Before Renato leaves, Don G tells him to tell Isabela to be careful and that if it’s necessary, she can count on his support. Alex and Isabela go to a club and she tries to get him to dance with her. He tells her that it’s best if they end things now before it goes too far.
Victoria tells Carolina that Diego suggested they move in with him. Flora tries to talk some sense into Diego, but it’s in vain. Claudio arrives and he tells him to get one of the cabins ready. Maria tells Claudio that Bianca has agreed to meet him at the café. Bianca tells Constanza that she’s going to meet with Claudio and Constanza is worried he might hurt her. Gladys is in bed when Gonzalo comes in and asks if she‘s thought over his proposal. She won‘t accept it and he kisses and gropes her. Carolina dreams about what happened with Alex and wakes up.
Amalia is outside when Carolina walks out. She confronts Carolina, telling her that her mother isn’t around to protect her this time. Carolina tries to get Amalia to see her side of things., but Amalia won‘t listen. Macario and Patricio are worried about what Miguel might do now that he thinks he’s going to be a Montero as Carolina and Amalia continue to argue. Amalia raises her hand to hit Carolina, but Carolina grabs her arm and tells her how much she hates Macario. Amalia doesn’t believe her, telling her that it’s best they never see each other again because she won’t be able to control herself. Patricio tells Macario that something needs to be done about Miguel and Amalia, too. He reminds Macairo that Amalia saw the bloody shirt, but Macario tells him that he Amalia doesn’t know what happened and simply thinks he cut his arm.
Patricio doesn‘t believe him and tells Macairo that he knows his weaknesses--Amalia and Carolina. Carolina invites Amalia to beat her to death if she wants, but it won‘t solve anything, but Amalia becomes upset, saying that she could never beat someone to death and runs off. German learns what happened when Diego went to see Victoria and tells Diego that he no longer has any rights where Victoria is concerned. Gonzalo continues to try to seduce Gladys into giving him a divorce, but she refuses to give him a divorce, telling him that now that she knows that her body doesn’t disgust him, she now has a way of making him suffer. At a club, Gerardo asks Alex if he‘s okay and Alex tells him that he‘s worried about hurting Isabela even though he already told her that he doesn‘t love her. He asks Gerardo how Carolina could betray both him and Amalia.
Amalia cries, thinking about Macario and doesn’t want to sleep alone. Alex learns that Ruben is angry with Gerardo because of something Don G told him. Gerardo wishes that Don G would keep Alex as his heir, but Alex doesn‘t want anything from his grandfather. Don G dreams about the night he caught Gonzalo beating Amalia’s mother to death. He wakes up and wonders what will happen when he dies. He wonders what Alex will think when he discovers that his father is a murderer. Alex and Isabela go back to the Montero ranch and he tells her he’s going to bed. She kisses him, telling him how much she loves him.
Lucrecia goes to see Victoria and lets Victoria know that she knows that Diego is keeping her secret, but says that she doesn’t know what the secret is. She tells Victoria that she won’t allow her to move to Los Encinos. Lucrecia tells her that Gonzalo wants to meet with her, but Victoria refuses. Gladys gives Gonzalo an eye-full when he wakes up, walking into the bedroom and dropping her towel to stand in front of him completely naked. He watches her rub lotion over her body, still naked. She goes to get dressed and he watches her leave, a smile on his face. Lucrecia gets Victoria to agree to meet Gonzalo in a public place away from the ranch because Gonzalo knows a secret about Carolina that he wants to talk to her about.
Gladys gets dressed and Gonzalo tells her that he wants her to leave his life forever. She looks out the window and sees Alex and Isabela walking towards the stables. Rocio finds Carolina working with the horses as Alex tells Isabela that he’s worried about her (Isabela). She tells him how much she loves him and that even if he doesn’t want to marry her, she’ll still help him. Rocio leaves Carolina just as Alex and Isabela arrive. Alex tells her to get his horse ready because he wants to go for a ride. Carolina watches as Isabela kisses Alex. Alex kisses her back, all the while peaking out of the corner of his eye to see Carolina’s reaction. Carolina looks crushed.
