Gonzalo asks Victoria to go to the wedding with him as his date. Victoria tells him no and Gonzalo tells her what a womanizer Diego is and how sometimes he has more than one woman at a time. He tells her that they’re getting married tomorrow before Don G can stop the wedding and Victoria is surprised that Diego and Lucrecia are getting married so soon. Patricio asks Isabela how she knows that the baby she’s expecting is his. Florencia and Lucrecia argue about who’s responsible for Martin’s death. Florencia refuses to believe that her daughter is dead and becomes suspicious of her sister, vowing to discover what Lucrecia is hiding. Victoria agrees to go to Diego’s wedding just to see his face when he’s sentenced to a life at Lucrecia’s side.
Gladys reprimands Carolina for coming inside the main house in search of Isabela. Isabela tells Patricio that it’s his baby because since she came from Paris, she and Alex didn’t have sex. He tells her that the baby is her problem. She tells him how much she cares about him and asks him to marry her. Carolina defends her love for Alex from Gladys and storms out of the room after accusing her of marrying Gonzalo for his money. Gonzalo offers Victoria money to buy a dress for the wedding as Diego angrily attacks a punching bag. Victoria wants to see Diego’s face when she shows up at his wedding with Gonzalo. The lawyer can’t finish the paperwork to change Miguel’s last name without Don G present and Miguel is upset.
Alex learns what Miguel is giving up in exchange for becoming a Montero. Patricio rejects Isabela’s marriage proposal and tells her that he was always honest with her and that their relationship was purely physical. She cries as he tells her that she means nothing to him and makes a comment about betraying Renato and confuses Patricio. He asks her what she means. Christa meets with Renato and learns Isabela’s pregnant with Patricio’s baby. Isabela tells Patricio that her uncle was making her marry Alex, but she wants him instea. He continues to reject her and angers her when he offers her money for an abortion. She cries and tells him she will never bother him again and can’t believe that she actually thought true love really existed.
Isabela asks him to keep the baby’s paternity a secret because she’s going to make everyone believe that it’s Alex’s baby. He agrees, thinking it’s a good idea. Renato slaps Christa because of Isabela’s situation and yells at her, blaming her for what happened. She tells him to do whatever he wants to her but not to leave her. Carolina remembers Gladys’ words about how she belongs in the stables and the accusation that Carolina only wanted Alex for his money. She then remembers Macario’s words, then those of Rocio who told her that he and Isabela had been meeting secretly and could have set her up. She goes to see Macario and asks him if he and Isabela planned the whole thing. Diego packs his things and tells Claudio that he’s moving into the guest bedroom so that Lucrecia can have the master bedroom to herself. Victoria tells Maria that she’s going to the wedding with Gonzalo as Claudio tries to convince Diego to cancel the wedding. Macario tells Carolina that he doesn’t know what she’s talking about, but she knows he’s lying.
Victoria tells Maria to bring her the jewels she bought from Diego because she plans to wear them tomorrow when she goes to the wedding. Maria tries to change her mind, but Victoria is determined to do what she wants to do. He steals a kiss from her and threatens to fire whoever it was that told her that he was meeting with Isabela. Martina flirts with Edelmiro when Rocio walks up and asks her what she’s doing with her boyfriend. Edelmiro is glad to hear her finally call him her boyfriend and kisses her.
Macario grabs Carolina and starts kissing her again. She tries to get free when Amalia walks in and misinterprets the situation. Amalia is ready to be taken to the hospital to meet Don G and before she leaves, tells Macario that he’s going to come back to her and walks out. Macario and Carolina continue to argue and she tells him to tell Isabela that she knows that she was behind what happened and vows that things won’t stay the way they are. Gladys tells Constanza that Carolina disrespected her when Gonzalo walks in and insults her. Isabela remembers Patricio’s words and thinks he’s right: the only thing that’s important in this world is money. Alex finds her in his office and she attempts to seduce him.
Maria brings Victoria the jewelry and tries to change her mind, but Victoria is determined to go to the wedding. Lucrecia tells Florencia that Constanza isn’t coming to her wedding because she’s afraid of her husband. She hopes that her marriage to Diego will kill her father. Don G learns from Ramon that Amalia is waiting for him outside. He plans to make sure that she won’t ever tell anyone what happened to her mother and wants to ask her if she knows where Salvador is because he needs to talk to his old friend before he dies. Don Chema tells Carolina that she will regain her friendship with Amalia, but her future with Alex isn’t so certain. Amalia goes into Don G’s hospital room and accuses him and Ramon of being accomplices in her mother’s murder. Ramon leaves her alone with Don G.
Lucrecia tells Gonzalo that she invited Florencia and Patricio to her wedding but isn’t going to invite either of her nephews or Bianca because she doesn’t want to create problems for them. Gonzalo tells her that Victoria is coming with him to the wedding and Lucrecia is pleased and can’t wait to see Victoria’s face when she and Diego get married. Maria and Victoria are talking when Diego arrives and asks if she’s decided to move onto his ranch and she tells him that she’s not going anywhere, but accepts his offer for Carolina. He asks her why she could possibly want to be so close to Gonzalo and she tells him that he’ll find out tomorrow.
Don G offers Amalia a lot of money to leave the ranch and keep quiet about what Gonzalo did forever. She tells him that it won’t do any good because Gonzalo will still be a murderer and when Don G dies, he’ll simply kill someone else. She then tells him what Gonzalo tried to do to Victoria and he grabs his left arm in pain. Amalia is scared he’s having another heart attack and calls for the doctor. Ramon rushes in and tells Amalia that it’s best that she leave and Don G, still in pain, tells Ramon that Amalia is right--when he dies there’ll be no one around to keep Gonzalo out of trouble.
Alex and Isabela go to a hotel and Isabela continues her seduction. Victoria tells Carolina that she’s going to the wedding. Isabela and Alex have sex and Isabela is certain that now she’ll be able to make everyone think that the baby is his. Diego’s friends and family are in his living room, dressed in black. Diego grabs a glass of champagne and salutes Victoria, saying that he’s doing it for her, so that she won’t go to prison. Lucrecia and Florencia walk in and Lucrecia has the nerve to kiss Flora on her cheek, calling her “my beloved Aunt Flora”. Flora tells her that she wishes her the very worst, but Lucrecia doesn’t lose her smile. Diego asks her if she’s sure she wants to do this and she says yes. He tells her that she’s sentencing them to a life of hell. She isn’t so sure.
Gonzalo arrives with Victoria on his arm and Diego’s mother’s necklace around Victoria’s neck, and everyone except Lucrecia is shocked. Diego tells them that he didn’t know they were coming together. Victoria tells him that they came together because “somos novios” they’re a couple. The entire room is shocked.
