Victoria and Diego go head-to-head and he’s surprised when she compares what Diego did to her to what Gonzalo did to her and says that she’s starting to like Gonzalo. Gonzalo tells Constanza and Gladys everything that happened and tells Gladys that he’s going to divorce her. She tells him that she’ll kill Victoria and him before she lets that happened. He calls her bluff as Victoria tells Diego how much she loved him and how badly he hurt her. She tells him that he betrayed her while Gonzalo offered her marriage. He still thinks the worst of her. Edelmiro tells Flora, German, and Claudio that Victoria and Diego are outside talking.
Victoria and Diego continue to argue when Lucrecia arrives, asking Victoria what she’s doing with her husband. Diego calls Lucrecia “mi amor” and tells her that they were simply discussing the necklace Victoria is wearing. He tells Lucrecia that it belonged to his mother and he wants it back. Victoria tells him that she’s not giving it back to him and Lucrecia offers her whatever amount of money she wants for the necklace. Victoria informs them that there’s no amount of money that anyone could pay her for the necklace. Flora tells German and Claudio that she regrets telling Lucrecia that Victoria was there.
Victoria tells Diego and Lucrecia that they money can’t buy the necklace because the its price is pain, tears, and hatred. Don G forces Alex to admit that he’s still in love with Carolina. Don G still has hopes of Alex returning to Isabela, but Alex tells him that a relationship with Isabela would never work because he doesn’t love her. Don G still wants him as an heir, but Alex doesn’t want anything from him. Isabela decides to return to the ranch and Renato sends Christa with her because he wants her to seduce Don G again and give him another heart attack.
Alex tells Don G again that he doesn’t want his money, but Don G tells him that it’s more than just money--he’ll be inheriting the role of troubleshooter in the family and gives Gonzalo as an example. He asks him about what Amalia told him about Gonzalo trying to rape Victoria and Alex tells him that it’s the truth. Don G tells him that she looked very comfortable standing next to Gonzalo at the wedding. He’s angry that his son went to the wedding without Gladys. Gonzalo tells Gladys that her ploys won’t work with him because he will divorce her. She is shocked when he announces that Victoria has agreed to marry him once he divorces Gladys. Victoria refuses to sell the jewelry, but Diego tells her that he needs the jewelry because it’s all he has left of his mother and he has a right to get them back from her. Victoria laughs at him and refuses, then leaves.
Lucrecia stops Diego from following Victoria and tells him that she’ll buy more jewelry, better than the ones Victoria has, but he tells her that he has to get his mother’s jewelry back even if it’s by force. Don G tells Alex that he’ll soon know the truth about his father and tells him to tell Victoria that he wants to see her because he has to warn her about Gonzalo. He tells him that there are things about his father that he won’t be able to protect him from once he dies. Victoria and Carolina express their hatred for Diego and Carolina learns that Victoria promised Gonzalo that she would marry him once he divorces Gladys. Victoria tells Carolina that she‘s going to continue her revenge and will marry Gonzalo if she has to because he‘s a part of her plans. Carolina tries to talk some sense into Victoria. Alex doesn’t understand why Don G is talking about his father as if he was a monster.
Don G tells Alex that Gonzalo isn’t a bad person and that his father is a monster. Back at Los Encinos, Gonzalo tells Florencia that their father is still alive, but she‘s the only one who cares. Diego tells Lucrecia that the jewelry is none of her business but she’s still curious. She asks him for “a moment of intimacy”. They kiss. Flora and Claudio talk about Lucrecia when Gonzalo confronts Flora. Diego and Lucrecia’s kiss ends and she asks him if he’d like to go upstairs with her. He tells her to remember that their marriage is only a farce and they’re only pretending to love each other when other people are around. She doesn’t understand why he doesn’t want to be with her and he tells her that she knows that he’s still in love with Victoria. Victoria tells Carolina that it’s best that she goes to live on Los Encinos and Carolina angrily starts packing her suitcase, saying she wants to be as far away as she can be because she doesn’t want to watch Victoria destroy her life. Victoria cries and Carolina continues to pack. Flora and Gonzalo trade insults.
Gladys bursts into Victoria’s room and confronts her about Gonzalo. Diego and Lucrecia decide not to tell the truth about her supposed pregnancy. Victoria and Gladys continue to argue about Gonzalo. Gonzalo and Flora continue their insults and Claudio joins in, calling Gonzalo a Daddy’s boy because he’s always doing what Don G tells him to do. Gonzalo isn’t happy. Don G irritates Alex and he leaves to go find Macario. Carolina arrives at Diego’s and tells him that even though he hates what he did to her mother, she’s decided to take him up on his offer to live there as Victoria reminds Gladys that she knows Alex isn’t really Gonzalo’s son.
Alex tells Macario that Don G wants to see him. Alex tells Macario that he’s moving out. Diego listens as Carolina tells him how upset she is about him and Lucrecia, Victoria and Gonzalo, and Aelx. She says that she feels like there’s no reason to live. He hugs her and tries to console her. Gonzalo and Lucrecia are surprised to see Carolina. She asks Gonzalo, “What is Carolina doing on my ranch?” Macario tells Alex that Carolina was playing with both of them and offers Carolina to him, but Alex tells him he’s no longer interested in her. Alex tells him that he can have her.
Victoria and Gladys both refuse to leave Gonzalo alone. Victoria tells her that it would be useless for her to try to seduce Gonzalo, but Gladys tells her that taking her husband isn’t going to be easy. When she’s left alone, Victoria says that it’s time she told Don G that she’s Lisa Dominguez because she doesn’t want the old man to die before he knows that she’s back. Lucrecia refuses to let Carolina live there but Florencia stops her from approaching Carolina and Diego and causing problems. Lucrecia is irritated that Florencia is protecting Carolina and Gonzalo insults Carolina. Florencia tells them that she feels a need to protect her.
Carolina tells Diego how upset she is that he married Lucrecia and begs him to tell her why he did it since she knows that he still loves Victoria. He lies, telling her that he married Lucrecia because he knows what it’s like to be illegitimate and didn’t want his child to be born out of wedlock. Alex tells Macario that if he (Macario) gets back with Carolina, Alex will watch him cry because she’ll only leave him as soon as someone with more money comes along. Don G tells Macario to send Victoria to him, then tells him that later, they’ll talk about what Macario and Carolina did to Alex. Macario reminds him that he was the one who told him to seduce Carolina so that he could keep her away from Alex. Victoria tells Rocio that Carolina will be sleeping at Los Encinos and tells her that she’s at the point of getting her revenge.
