Episode Ninety

Renato asks Christa where she was and she tells him that she was shopping. He tells her that next time she leaves, she needs his permission. He also tells her that he spoke with Isabela and has no choice but to marry Alex and abort the baby later and tells Christa that she’ll have to take Isabela to a doctor. Isabela is cleaning Renato’s room and thinking about her conversation with Renato when Martina walks in. She asks Martina for money to help her run away. Christa asks Renato what he’ll do if Patricio becomes involved, but he doesn’t think Patricio will get involved. At the Miontero ranch, the family try to organize themselves for viewing the will and Alex says that the only thing he cares about is speaking to Victoria later and talking to Carolina. He shows Victoria and Carolina to the couch, but Carolina decides she wants to sit next to “mi mama” and thanks Florencia for not accusing Victoria or kidnapping her.

Gonzalo threatens Victoria and Florencia tells him to shut up. They return to the will and Don G welcomes everyone. Renato tells Christa that he’s smart enough to understand that even if Isabela marries Alex, the marriage won’t last. Martina tells Isabela that she can’t help her and calls her a traitor. Isabela tells her that she doesn’t know what hell it is living with Renato. Martina tells her that even though she has tot share Renato with other women, she’s in love with him. She tells Isabela that the next time she asks her for help, she’s going to tell on her. Renato still plans to invest into the Montero business and Christa wonders if Alex is still going to be Don G’s heir. Don G leaves Florencia 10% and wants her to continue to work for the business and applauds her strength and intelligence. He also warns her to be careful with Patricio because he’s much more ambitious than she thinks.

Patricio starts a fuss as Don G says that Patricio is just as ambitious as Ruben, perhaps more so. He tells Constanza what a coward she is for never standing up to him or Ruben but leaves her 10%, too--whether she stays with Ruben or not. He tells her that it also depends upon her if she decides to let Ruben manage her inheritance or take charge of her own life. Constanza vows to divorce Ruben, but he tells her that he’ll never give her a divorce. Bianca and Gerardo stick up for Constanza and Gerardo tells Ruben that he’s going to support his mother in the divorce. Miguel whispers to Patricio and they’re both upset at Don G’s comments. Miguel doesn’t think Patricio will be the executor, but Patricio thinks he still might be. Gonzalo tells Macario that they need to talk later because he refuses to let his father get away with not naming him heir. Macario tells him that if Don G leaves him a hefty sum in his will, he won’t be helping Gonzalo anymore.

Amalia and Victoria talk about Carolina and Florencia, who are bonding on the other side of the room. Victoria admits that she is jealous but hopes that Carolina grows to love Florencia as much as she should. Miguel tries to get everybody quiet and orders the lawyer to start the tape again. Don G calls Lucrecia “la loca de la familia” and tells her that she’s always done her very worst and hates her for marrying his worst enemy. He tells her that he knows that Diego doesn’t love her and will divorce her the moment he has a chance. Lucrecia snaps and tries to attack Victoria, blaming her for the fact that Diego doesn’t love her. Amalia and Alex intercept her and she continues to yell at Victoria. Diego, German, and Claudio are in a bar talking and Diego tells them that he spoke to a lawyer who told him that if he can prove that he was blackmailed into marriage, getting a divorce will be even easier. They talk about how crazy Lucrecia is as Victoria refuses to stand around and be insulted by Lucrecia.

Ocampa stops Victoria from leaving, telling her that she has to stay until the end of the will. Diego continues to talk about Lucrecia and Claudio asks him if Victoria’s going to prison and Diego hopes that Carolina speaks with Florencia and convinces her not to press charges. Carolina asks Victoria not to leave, even though she knows that she doesn’t care what’s in the will. Gladys wants her to leave and says that the will has been edited so that it makes certain members of the family look bad. Chema tells Gladys that the tape hasn’t been edited and wants everyone to be quiet so that they can hear the rest. Lucrecia tells Victoria that she’d rather see her dead than at Diego’s side. Claudio and German plan to go to the store as Diego plans to visit Renato. Don G tells Lucrecia that since she’s always been so close to Gonzalo, she should ask him why he hates Diego so much.

Don G tells Lucrecia that he isn’t leaving her anything and tells her that when Diego throws her out in the street, she’d better not try to set foot on the Montero ranch. Diego bursts into Renato’s apartment and tells him that he’s going to give Victoria back everything he stole. Renato threatens to call the police if he doesn’t let him go and Diego thinks that’s a good idea because then he can tell the police what Renato did to Victoria. Lucrecia is angry that her father left her nothing and accuses him of trying to ruin her life even after death. She yells at his image on the television, telling him to go to hell. She refuses to stay away from the ranch. She grabs a figurine off of the table and throws it and it crashes into the television. Renato tells Diego that Victoria gave him everything voluntarily, but Diego knows he’s not telling the truth. Renato is afraid of Diego but tells him to leave. Diego refuses to leave until he gives Victoria back everything he took from her.

Renato, using Christa as a shield, accuses Diego of using Victoria for her money. Victoria and Amalia, along with the rest, think that Lucrecia is crazy, Gonzalo pulls his sister out of the room to calm her down. Miguel is upset that the television is broken and orders Macario to go and get another one. Macario tells him that he only takes orders from the boss and right now, no one knows who the boss is. Patricio tells Miguel to calm down before turning to Macario. Macario asks him if he wants the same thing to happen to him that happened to Martin. Ruben goes with Miguel and Patricio to get another television. Victoria plans to speak with Florencia and Amalia offers to go with her. She asks Florencia if they can talk and says that Carolina can join them if she wants to. Carolina doesn’t want to go with them. They leave and Amalia decides it’s time to tell Bianca her plan to save her from going to the convent.

German and Claudio are waiting for Diego and worry about him being alone with Renato. Diego tells Renato that he never used Victoria and when Renato continues to accuse him, Diego punches him. Renato tells Christa to hurry and call the police, but quickly changes his mind, telling her to hang up. Using her again as a shield, he asks Diego how much money he wants to leave him alone, but Diego doesn’t want money. Victoria and Florencia find an empty room. Victoria tells her thanks for defending her against Renato even though she knows she probably did just to win points with Carolina. Florencia tells her not to thank her because she did it for Carolina and will do anything to gain Carolina’s love and affection. Victoria still thinks Florencia’s going to send her to prison and tells her that she’s going to help her because she wants Carolina to be happy. She says that when the police arrest her, she’ll simply tell Carolina that she turned herself in so that Florencia won’t be blamed. Florencia tells her that she’s not going to press charges against her because she made a promise.

At the police department, the office Victoria and Diego met with, tells an assosciate that the police in Paris are not only investigating the prostitution ring Renato has, but they’re also looking into two cases involving two wealthy women who were conned out of their money. They plan to help the police in Paris out and investigating Victoria’s accusation of fraud against Renato. They talk about how dangerous Renato is as Renato refuses to give Victoria back her estate and offers Diego a piece of it to leave him alone. Diego lunges at him, but Renato shoves Christa in front of him as a shield, stopping Diego from hurting him. Renato offers him woman, too, but Diego tells him that he has three days to give Victoria back her estate or he’ll have to deal with the consequences.

Florencia tells Victoria about the promise she made not to go to the police and says that if she sent her to prison, Carolina would feel sympathy for Victoria and she doesn’t want that. She tells her that she’s not going to make Victoria look like a victim and wants Victoria to be happy so that Carolina won’t have to worry about her. She also says that since Lucrecia’s lost her mind, Diego will surely divorce her. Gonzalo manages to calm Lucrecia down and tells her that she has to stay focused and support him. He thinks he’ll inherit a portion, take control of Cosntanza and Lucrecia’s portions and somehow manage to have control of the estate. He tells her that afterwards, they’ll find a way to get rid of Victoria. Lucrecia asks if Miguel might be a problem, but he’s not worried. Patricio, Miguel and Ruben find a television. Miguel and Patricio have a little spat with Ruben.

Alex tells Carolina that now that he knows that they’re cousin, he feels a little better, but they still can’t be together. She agrees and learns that he plans to leave for Europe as soon as possible. He kisses her on the cheek. Victoria thanks Florencia for not going to the police and forgiving her, but Florencia tells her not to thank her because she hasn’t forgiven her for stealing her child. She tells Victoria that she’ll never be able to rest while Victoria is still alive because she’ll always know that a part of Carolina will love Victoria forever. Gladys continues to try to make Alex believe that the tape has been edited. Everyone gathers together again with a new television and the tape continues where it left off.

Don G makes fun of Gladys, then tells Gonzalo that he’s leaving him nothing because he deserves nothing--only a monthly allowance and permission to continue living on the ranch. He tells Gonzalo that if he divorces Gladys, he is to be thrown off of the ranch and won’t receive a penny and will be left out in the street just like Lucrecia. Gladys is scared that Don G is going to reveal her secret, but is surprised when he tells her that she can continue staying at the ranch and leaves her some money to go shopping, saying that it’s the only thing she does well. He also tells her that no one can kick her off the ranch, but if she lets Gonzalo divorce her, she won’t receive anything and be left in the street. She thanks God that Don G didn’t have time to change his will. Gonzalo tells Gladys that no matter what Don G says, he will still divorce her. Miguel tells everybody to shut up because he wants to hear what Don G has in store for him.

Don G addresses Miguel--he is leaving Miguel nothing, but will let him continue to live at the ranch and refuses to give Miguel his last name. He tells Miguel that he’s worthless and won’t waste any more time talking to him. Miguel is close to tears and throws a fit. Gonzalo and Patricio try to get him to sit down and shut up. He continues to make a fuss and wants to leave, but Gonzalo tells him that he’s not going anywhere until the tape finishes. To Ruben--he says that he wasted his time always sucking up to him, thinking he would leave him his fortune when he died. Don G says that he will let him continue to work in the Montero enterprises and give him a monthly allowance like Gladys, but says that if Constanza divorces him, he’ll have to leave the ranch, but continue to receive his allowance and work for the business. He tells him that if Gerardo should become a value to the businesses, Gerardo will lose everything if Ruben begins to mettle in Gerardo’s inheritance and the Montero fortune.

Gerardo doesn’t want to inherit anything. Don G leaves Bianca and Gerardo 20% of his estate to be split equally and warns Gerardo that he’ll lose everything if he lets his father manage the Montero fortune. He tells Bianca that since she’s so good at the office, she should support whoever he plans to name as his heir at work, but refuses to give her permission to handle the family fortune. Bianca says that Don G remained a male chauvinist until the very end. Don G says that it’s time everyone found out why Amalia, Victoria, Carolina, and Macario are there. To Amalia--he tells her that so long as she keep their secret, no one will be able to kick her off of the ranch and says that if she wants to move away, an apartment will be purchased for her and she will be given money. Everyone looks at Amalia and she says that for the moment, she doesn’t’ plan to leave the ranch. Amalia whispers to Victoria that she’ll talk to her later and give her a way to keep Gonzalo away from her. Victoria asks her how she’ll be able to do that and Amalia whispers to her that she has proof that Gonzalo is a murderer.
