When I say something like "Open windows explorer and go to the directory you installed MOO in," will people know what I talking about
Yes. Most players will be RB veterans. Anybody who has participated in our Civ3 events or any other multiplayer event has had to download game files, upload picture files, move saved games, etc.
Don't assume knowledge of DOS, though.
Would it be better to cover setting up DOSbox via the command line and editing its config file or would it be better to have people setup a frontend with a more graphical interface?
Both would be ideal. The frontend allows rapid experimentation, but its purpose is to manipulate the config file, so in effect, once you understand what you are doing through the frontend, you would be in position to understand handling the config directly.
If both options are detailed, players would have choice.
