Response to OK, but...

First I have no direct stake in your Nation's battle. I've followed John's site from a safe distance down in the heart of the Choctaw Nation.

Steve is right that the fiscally sensible thing to do would be for the UKB and CNOT to reach some sort of merger. But I don't think finances are the only concern here for a lot of folks of higher blood quantum. Historically, we can look back at the Snake movement to see the overriding concern of a lot of fullbloods and folks of higher quantum, that of directing their own future in a way that is in keeping with their own traditions and beliefs.

For the UKB to merge into the CNOT would be for the last guardians of the fullbloods to lose themselves in a sea of white. That is where we Chahta find ourselves, less than 20% of the voting population. It is no longer our voice that is heard in tribal affairs. And the UKB would find itself in the same boat.

We tend to vest where we find value.

I wonder if a wise Snake could live in these times?
