The cards issued by the federal government and our tribal governments are nothing more, nor less, than representations of our connection to our tribes. Many a wannabe will decry the card as a pedigree, much like a dog. But that is just a distraction from the truth. Our tribal cards, much like the U.S. Social Security card, represent our citizenship, unbroken connection to our tribes.
