to be a Sabre fan. Must have been tough decision for the gm to not deal him before the deadline. They could have added even more talent to their club. And picked up a free agent with the extra cabbage in the off season. Enuff of that.....I've recycled that idea on here plenty already. How much of Gilmour's contract does Buffalo have to pick up next year? I know he makes big money.
I think it is possible that Hasek is distracted or not as intense as he can be. I think secretly Hasek was hoping he would get dealt to a team that was more of a contender. Who can blame him? But didn't want to look like a malcontent.....which is what alot of people may have veiwed that kinda stance. I remember what the Sabres did last year......they did alot!......but for some reason it seems like a long time ago. I think Hasek is distracted because he doesnt want to retire as a Sabre, with no Cup on his mantle.
I know the "No Cup" phrase probably bothers you. But my team may never see another Cup again......lol. It's still fun to cheer every year though.
Maybe I will eat my words and Buff will do something in the playoffs should they make it in this year. But I'm not holding my breath.
I don't think Regier acted in the best interest of the Sabres and their fans. Probably would have been an uproar had he shipped Hasek though. Kinda a no win sitch. Time will tell.
