E25...

by Frank Drumheller

you're correct,Gary. I was in a big hurry when I posted and I knew I was pushing it. I was trying to get on the road to Louisa to help Gerald and Wade load up for Carlisle. Then the carpet clearners arrived and in all the commotion of barking dog and Jackie's negotiations with them, I rushed the response. (No, I've been too ill to go to Carlisle)

The truck in question is a 1964 E25, the last one of this model built. It is serial number E25-152, model 8E25A-171-4E1BD. It is, of course, a Deisel model as verified by the shutters. I guess I was thrown off by no DIESEL nameplate on front. Yes, this truck was very rough and I did not write down the selling price. If I remember, it was a very low figure.

By the way, there were no E35's involved in the Hall sale. There were two (2) E40's (ex-Marine) and an E40 tractor (gas) that sold at the auction. The 1964 8E40E-143, serial number E40-5507 was as nice as the earlier sold '62 Diesel reported by Gary Ash.

Hope this clears up my bad. Frank
