I guess that I butted in too soon earlier. Since I am reading the dialog after it has gotten cold, I guess I thought the discussion had ended on the truck that looks as though it carries its own carport around with it. There is the type of twenty inch rim that splits down the center and locks down the center; that is to say two halves. These might be referred to as RH5. These also sound later than 1949. I do not think you would have a 2R17 without a two speed final drive. The love and kisses grill on a truck of that era would be in contrast to the aggressive fang toothed grill decor seen on Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks in this era.
