Re: Goodbye All, I think I have had enough of this...
What Ted and Zane said. Hope you stick around and keep posting about your truck. I know I'd like to see what you are working on now that the motor is done.
As far as stainless goes, just about every bolt that has come off my truck has gotten replaced with a stainless one. Just because I live in Missouri and I hate rust. The only exception recently was I worked on my rear bumper brackets, they were bent. Once I got them straightened and powder coated they and the bumper went back on with grade 8 bolts. I probably could have gotten away with stainless there too, but someday I may put a hitch on it. Right now I am working on the brackets for the gas tank. The rear bolts that go through the bracket and the gas tank have springs on them with a castle nut and a cotter pin. Cant find a stainless bolt with a hole in it for a cotter pin so I am drilling a hole in the stainless ones I got from the local ace hardware. Yea I know crazy, but it's my truck and that's what I want to do with it. I say if you want to use the stainless one for the door hinges go for it.
And as my mom, and probably yours too, said if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all
