1957 3/4 ton truckby Jim Mackey
I pulled the broken grill off this truck and found the radiator support and fenders bent fairly bad,in fact the radiator support bolt was bent backwards about 35 degrees. So until I get around to doing the body work on the 1957 parts I put on the front end and box from a 1951 1/2 ton.The right hand 1957 fender had holes punch for the 1956 grill, the factory had put in hole plugs and painted the fender. When the flatbed was put on they cut the frame 3" to make it fit so I will be extending the frame back to original. This truck started out with the 122" wb and was shortened to 112" wb at the utility box factory that Bell Telephone used, they welded a channel inside the frame that extends about 6" either side of the frame weld.
Anyway I have been having a lot of fun playing with this truck, sometime this spring I am going to sell my other trucks.
Would anyone have a 1957 on up grill that is good shape?
