Brass rivets were used so that the heads wouldn't scratch the glass if they ever came in contact. You can usually get an assortment of small tubular rivets at Ace Hardware, etc. While you're there, buy 5-6 small bearing balls that are slightly bigger then the ends of the rivets. Put the rivet through the whiskers and door panel, put a ball on the end of the rivet, and squeeze down with ViseGrips until the end of the rivet spreads enough to hold the whiskers in place. Remove the ball and squeeze the rivet tight. Of course, the ball may fly off under the workbench, which is why you need a bunch of them, LOL!
