Many different models of military trucks were made during WWII. Chevy made many thousands of 4x4 two-ton trucks with duallies on the single rear axle. As in the picture of the Stude 6x6 with duallies on all three axles, there's no physical reason why they couldn't have been added to the front axle as well.
