Heh 2R owners,i am a new stude owner, have a 53 2R6 with a 245 cu in motor with 3 sp. overdrive,column shift,motor needs overhaul and head is got a couple of small fissures one by temp capillary port, come across a 170 cu in 85 hp out of a 52 2R5 with a 3 sp. overdrive,other than the rear mount will this motor,with it,s 3 spd swap out with mine?front motor mounts seem to measure the same distance across,but i,m 63 and wear glasses, is the cross member for the rear engine mount the same on both frames, the 52 and 53 2r,s,also will linkage for transmission be the same as the trannies are the same? first time with this big a job, would like to tackle it if it will be a same engine and trans.swap,would overhaul mine but this one is already done including trans, save me a ton of money if it would work and overhaul mine later,but i wonder if they changed the frame for the 245? thanks a bunch, jim
