A previous owner of my '52 2R11 3/4 ton replaced the Commander 6 with a '51 or '52 V8. A search hasn't yielded really good info; the best data I have found so far is that the big six weighed 500-600 lbs. without trans vs. the 232 at 550 lbs. without trans.
Does anybody know what the relative weights truly are? If not, which sources should I go to next? My concern is if the weights are widely different I'll need to change the number of leaves in the springs and/or modify the shock valving in the front suspension.
