131..indicates the wheelbase of the chassis measured from the center of the front axle to the center of the rear axle.
C....code for 'cab'.
2....code for a standard Studebaker cab. Deluxe C4 cabs were available from the factory at additional cost.

2554.the sequencial order in which this E14 truck came off the assembly line. The first '14' was produced for the 1951 model year as serial number R14-001, therefore this truck is the 2553rd model 14 built. This is a relatively scare model built over a period of 7 model years 1951-1957. An additional 502 E14s were built in the 1958 model year and an addtional 114 built in the 1959 model year. Apparently there were a small number of E14s built for the 1960 model year, the last year for E14's, however, I do not have that information available.
