Left the house around 8 this morning, heading north to Ashland, VA in my 3E14, a trip of about 30 miles one way. I was going up to meet Jim Beadle and John Weinrich who were driving their 2R and M5 (respectively) from their homes to meet up at the Bass Pro Shops, in Ashland. I arrived early, a little after 9, and Jim and John pulled in around 10:30. I had saved spaces for them, and we had the 1/2, 1 and 1 1/2 ton trucks lined up (hoods up). We had a GREAT meal at the BPS Fish Company, inside the store, then toured the store and looked at everything. John had not been in a BPS before, and think he was amazed at the huge fish tank (as well as fish) in the store. Something to see. After a couple hours of "talking Stude's", it was tiem to bid our good by's, and head our separate ways. John had about 70 miles one way to drive, and Jim had about 55 miles to drive. We were fortunate the rain we had (not awhole lot) was not a problem, even for Jim's vacuum wipers!
Jim and John had met before, but this was the first time I had met either of them, and want to say what great gentlemen they are. We all plan to meet again at Field Days of the Past (21-23 Sept.). Looking forward to it!
Brian
PS I drove a total of 59.6 miles. I used 8.022 Gallons of gas for the trip. I got 7.43 MPG. My truck loves 40 MPH, and gas!
