it was not easy to pull out the 1st time ( I was suprised at how much disassembly I had to do to get it out ) one of the ugly parts on disassembly / reassembly was the oil bath fan assembly... the fan is just a "normal" pully driven 4 blade fan, but doesn't have bearings, it has bushings, & an oil splash system... way too many parts, & you unscrew a cap, & fill it until oil comes out the rear bushing, so the front of the engine will always be greasy... I'm thinking about doing similar to what I did to the water pump last winter, & machining the fan housing for modern sealed bearings, but retaining the original look ( if the fan goes dry, it siezes & chucks into the radiator core ) if I do the fan assembly, clearance wise, I'd have to pull the radiator again, & that would be a good time to look at recoring it with something more efficient
