M15A Hauling Capacity Questions

I have a 1948 M15A. Sometime in the past I believe someone added the auxiliary springs in the rear. I say "I believe" because they added the auxiliary brackets made from plain angle iron. I have correct brackets now thanks to Vern and plan to install them when I re-arch the springs, install new bushings, and whatnot. Production order does not show "HD Springs" or "Auxiliary Springs".

Here are my questions:

1. Was the truck originally a 1 ton?

2. What does the auxiliary springs bring the rating to?
