  • Engine ID

A new Studebaker friend just acquired a nice '57 Transtar Deluxe E12. The title says it is a 6 cylinder, however, it has every indication that it was originally a V8 from the factory. The engine appears to be a 259 V8 equipped with a 4 bbl. carb. The engine ID is perplexing . . . it is stamped VCC 4T2. I know someone from this forum can solve the mystery. Other interesting indicators are the 4 speed floor shift, HD rear springs, V8 emblem on the side of the hood. This one will turn out to be a really nice 3/4 ton Transtar when my new friend gets it back on the road.
