If you've spent anytime on this forum, you'd know that I have documented REAMS of information about why I'm no longer interested in podiatry and why I'm pursuing an MD or DO degree. Podiatrists feel the second-class citizen crap all of the time. I just gave a specific example. And, again, if you've really been reading my posts you'd know that this is probably last on my list of problems with podiatry. I've already acknowledged that FEWER people know what a DO is than what a DPM is. I don't have a problem with this simply because I will also be an INTERNIST or an ER physician or, take your pick. I won't give a damn if they know or don't know because I'LL KNOW that I've been fully trained as a physician with a comprehensive license to practice medicine and I won't have to consult with someone if I want to cut some toenails. I'd probably be better off with an MD, but since allopathic and osteopathic schools don't recognize anything you've done in podiatry school, it would likely be too competitive.
