No politics!? Well, there may be one or two of us who might help.

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for, though. If I were going to do research on this, I'd first find a break down of all of the components used in a typical orthotic. There are several types, so you'd need to either narrow it to one (polypropylene, for example) or do the whole list. Then you'd need to find which of these are either known to be carcinogenic or suspected to be. And, how can these carcinogenic materials be delivered into the body or bloodstream. I would go onto medline or just search on a computer (I like google.com). The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency may have info on carcinogens and their effects on the body.

I'd also see if there has been any other type of medical study involving this kind of question. Like breast implants, joint implants, wearing prosthetics, etc.

It may be difficult to do a good retrospective study.

Maybe give us some more info as to what kind of help you need.
