Hello all, i have been a frequent visitor to this forum from the past 3 months but never posted. I am a premed student at suny buffalo currently on break. I interviewed recently at The New York College of POdiatric Medicine and just got an acceptance letter today. my dream has always been to be a doctor and when I didn;t do well on the mcats I felt my dreams were to be shattered. I applied to 33 medical schools and only recieved 2 interviews with subsequent rejections (NYCM, NYCOM). I applied to podiatry late but was able to secure interviews at 5 schools I applied to. I got the letter today and almost broke down when I read the news. My mom left work early to come home and celebrate. My dad is taking out our whole family tonite to a steak dinner to celebrate. I called up the chicago college to cancel my interview and an admissions officer (MS. Jenkins?) offered me a spot in the 2007 class on the spot. Thats 2 spots I have secured so far. What advice to you all havv for a premed student to get ready for the medical school year? I was thinking of going to the med bookstore to get books on anatomy and surgery to read ahead. Right now I am very nervous and excited that I am going to be a doctor. My dream has always been to help people and today....Januaery 3rd, that dream came true.

P,s, sorry for all the bad spelling mistakes
