$45,000 Pod. Jobsby Mark Boyer (no login)45K is about all that you will be offered, maybe upwards to 65K if that include tax payer nursing home pedicures- thanks medicare. Podiatry not covered by Medicaid-wonder why?? Do NOT believe the salaries as they are from most likely the APMA who uses skewed, outdated stats. They survey their members who are in their 10-15 years in the grand hey day of medicine and can afford the excessive APA "dues". The avg. starting salary for a 2-3 surg. res. pod is between 40-65K.- that is a joke. With massive student loans, and living expenses, etc... what will you do? This profession is a sinking ship until it is completely integrated/amalgamated with MD/DO degree with exactly same training/loan repayments as MD/DO in the US, yes US not the Carribean or Costa Rica. Can't build a profession on sand. The student loans then go into financial purgatory with income contigent plans in which you can't EVEN pay the full monthly interest payment which results in negative amortization. Thanks to Billy Clintin can't declare bankruptcy with student loans but Worldcon and US Scare lines can get banruptcy protection-what a great country. Why become a pod when you can be a foot/ankle orthopod with full respect, professional accrutrements, real journals, pride, etc... Would also like to see a full listing of podiatric "deans" starting salaries--are they between 45-65K?? What do you think, good luck. from IP address 134.174.18.108 Goto Forum Home |
