It must be you

This isn't an attempt to belittle but to help. You are telling me that you did a 3 year surgical residency and you can not make it? With all due respect, it has to be you or you have chosen an area that is saturated with DPMs, MD/DOs.
I am a residency director and all of our grads over the last 7 years are doing great. Last year our7 grads all have base salaries of 60-120,000 plus benefits and bonuses. I receive requests for grads from 20-30+ groups(not all DPMs) each year.
The only grads I see who have settled for less than optimal positions are those who had unrealistic requirements. I need to be only in this city, must make 100,000+ my first year, I refuse to do routine care, and I plan to marry/buy a car/a house within the first year.(perhaps a bit exaggerated).
Those who are patient, started their job search or practice set up early(some still start their search with less than 6 months and never go anywhere to network as resident),are realistic, and malleable do well. Many are making within the 200,000+ range within 3-5 years.
This is of course my point.
If you have the training, are willing to bend a little, and quit blaming a profession where many are doing well, let me know and I will find you a job. Or you can stay bitter, tell us why it is impossible to make it or trying is a waste of time and continue with your enviromental services career.
my opinion
