Podiatric surgeon income rangeby Pharmacists (no login)Hi everybody, I am a pharmacist currently working in a managed care organization. I am extremely well versed with all the problems that you guys are facing as podiatrists getting frustrated with medical reimbursement from insurance company or medicare. I have some burning questions to ask. My cousins just graduated from podiatric surgery residency program in connecticut ( specialty in diabetic foot reconstruction). They have been boasting since the beginning of their podiatric residency that they will be making $ 500,000/annum after graduating from the residency program. My parents have been urging me to switch gear to go back to school and be a podiatrist. Now my question is: a. Is the above projected income a reasonable estimate of a podiatric surgeon salary? If not, what would be the best estimate that you think a podiatric surgeon will make in this current health care environment? b. Which states would be considered saturated area and which state arent? What would be the projected earning potential if such surgeon works in unsaturated areas, and saturated area? c. Are the east cost and south east considered saturated areas?
