Ok...by (no login)"The rest of your posts are bull because i know for a fact that all of the podiatrists in my area are doing well. We make more than the gp's and internists in our area." "No one is going to listen to you most people go visit real live podiatrists to get feedback!" Alright. And when one of these students graduates and completes their PPMR, or even PSR-12, are you going to offer them a job? If you make so much money, you must be busy enough to need associates. Are you going to pay them a living salary, or will you offer them $50k with no benefits? Ok. Ok. I know you don't need anybody else around, so you won't be hiring anyone. Besides, there are plenty of other pods in your area all doing so well. So those grads will all have to open up down the street from you. Lets see how you feel about 2 or 3 more guys opening within a few miles. Still feel superior? Are you still going to be making more money than the MD's? When Medicare stops covering nails, will you still make more money than the MD's? Maybe the potential students will visit you successful pods instead of listening to us losers, but maybe you should tell them that you won't hire them, and nobody else will either. Maybe you should tell them that you are doing great, but you hope they don't come back to practice in your neighborhood. Maybe you should tell them that by the time they graduate, Medicare will have stopped paying for nails, or will pay so paltry that it won't be worth taking. Oh, that's right, don't forget to mention that they HAVE to take it, though, because they can't opt out of Medicare like their MD/DO colleagues. I've spent a lot of time on this board arguing for balanced posts (you can go back and review my past messages if you disagree), but I won't stand for arrogance either. The plain and simple truth is that students graduate with too much debt to have to deal with the problems this profession does have. And until everybody is assured equal post-graduate training, so that we can treat anything that walks through the door, we will never be the foot and ankle experts. Only some of us will be. And there will always be the haves and have-nots in the profession. The problem is, you won't know which category you fit into until you owe $150k. Good luck to all, Jeffrey C.
