Re: Ok...by Anonymous (no login)I'll try to answer: Yes I will be looking for an associate within the next 4 years. I have been in practice for 4. I am planning on bringing someone on like myself a hard worker who know their stuff and will enhance my practice image-yes they will be well compensated. I was the first podiatrist in my small town of 7,000 with a 30,000 populaton within 10 miles. Since I have opened 2 more have come. I haven't noticed a difference it's a growing area and my practice keeps growing. They both are well trained surgeons which helps our image. I don't bill 11721 or 11720. I will bill G0127 and 11-55, ect.. for diabetics with PVD. The rest are A9160 non-covered. Cash is king. I don't care if medicare stops paying 11721 in fact I can't wait until they do. I have had students in my office. One was a local internist's neice. Maybe she will be interested in my practice after she receives the appropriate training. I will only consider someone who has had the equivelent of my training. You are right there is a division amoung us podiatrists into the have's(surgical trained) andhave not's(non-surical trained). I'm not trying to say this division is right and when I was a student believe me I prayed I would fall into the catagory I did. I agree the students should know before sending in the 500.00 deposit about this division and the potential of a devastating financial situation. You talk about balance- most of these negative posts are so off the wall they are ludicrous and I think most people can see that. I don't know what the answer is all I can say is when I started I knew what I was facing and I can't see how everyone else didn't see it. If you don't want to take the chance than don't go to podiatry school. You say my post is arrogant-fine. That is your opinion. I'm entitled to mine. from IP address 24.73.160.198 Goto Forum Home |
