Haven't used a stethoscope since 1985!

MI can happen anywhere. I saw a man have one in a dressing room of a swimming pool. I kept telling him that he was having one and the other old farts kept joking and talking about their MIs bec they had different sypmtoms so I had 4 different opinions and no one was taking him seriously expcept me. So I finally called in the lifeguard and he dialed 911 -the man spent 4 days in ICU. A patient of mine had a MI in the waiting room even before I saw her. The receptionist dialed 911 before I was even notified, the fire fighters were there in 2 minutes. The paramedics arrived 2 minutes later. Our waiting room almost looked like the set of ER -unfortunately, she didn't make it.

The last time I used a stethoscope was in 1985, I took my classmate's BP.
