15,000 city -- 5 foot docs now!!!

by Dr Smith (no login)

This is the absolute truth. My friend is the dominant podiatrist in a city of 15,000. But, within the last year, 4 DPMs have moved to that city with either a full time practice or part time ones.

This city is the arm pit of the South. And, to compete, this established doctor took out a full page Yellow pages ad so that the others could not be first. This is yet another $700 a month expense or
$8400 a year.

He too has seen this practice take a hit as a local RN gets the referrals from a favorite PCP MD.

LESS INCOME. LESS SURGERY. More competition in the Arm Pit of the South.

Don't let anyone tell you that "Podiatry is wide open". You can lose your shirt in podiatry, even the older guys can tell you that.
