By your same logic, you Doomers and Gloomers are telling us to get into nursing and other professions, yet there are many nurses and other professionals currently in podiatry school that gave up those careers to be a Podiatric Physician.

I met a DPM/DO during an externship month who was completing some continuing education units for podiatry. When I asked how he liked the family practice gig vs. his time as a podiatrist he stated that "the grass always looks greener on the other side, and I'll just leave it at that."

I think both professions are great, and a career choice should be a very personal decision. I'll stick with Podiatry, but if someone wants to leave podiatry because they think they would be more happy as a DO or a ditch digger, more power to them. I'll certainly respect them more than an unhappy podiatrist that only wants to whine.
