Too Many Podiatrists

by 3rd year out (no login)

"The successful people...most podiatrists have more than enough work...are out working, and not posting negative comments."

Comment: Most podiatrists can see you today, not exactly "more than enough work" as you say. If anyone has any doubts about the over abundance of podiatrists, just call any one of them in your phone book and see how long it takes to get an appointment. The 12 in my town can ALL see you today.

"Yes, all medical fields have suffered from insurance and lawsuits and medical costs, and everyone has to work harder to make the same money. But the potential is there."

Comment: Urologist 1st year out 350k, 50k sign bonus. Ortho 1st year out 300k, Internal Medicine 1st year out 200k, I could go on. Sure podiatry has "potential" I have the potential to win the lottery too.

I know there have been tough times for podiatrists. And some have just been unlucky through no fault of their own.

Comment: Bingo. Name me one professional post grad school that costs 150k, and does not guarantee proper training to practice that profession. Who else has a residency lottery where a low blouse and tight skirt beat out top students?

I just cannot believe that there are any students stupid enough to go to pod school in this day and age.

WAKE UP.

DO NOT ATTEND PODIATRY SCHOOL.

IF YOU ARE ALREADY THERE, CUT YOUR LOSS AND GO BE A REAL DOCTOR. IF YOU MUST GO OVERSEAS, DO IT, YOU WILL SPEND THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY, AND YOU WILL BE A REAL DOCTOR.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.

My 2 cents, make that 1 cent.
