A message of help for the poor, poor podiatrists.

Well, I posted a message last week titled "get real" and I was attacked for a positive message about a career I'm not even in yet. I am contemplating a career in podiatry and have good grades.

Well to those who whine about the lack of opportunity that they find I can only make a few observations about you. When you graduated podiatry school did you think the world would just roll out the red carpet for you? Shower you with admiration? Patients? ect. I mean this isn't a fantasy land where you just show up in a new town and people sing from the rooftops that there is an actual podiatrist in town! What exactly were you thinking?

You gotta go out and get referals, get smart about where you're going to open a practice, market yourself at assisted living facilities, advertise and grow a practice. I mean if you do these things how could you not be successful? By the way guys, dentists and chiros and to a certain extent MDs deal with the same issues in this day and age.

For those of you who are miserable about how much money you make, let me ask you a straight up question that you can answer it if you're going to reply to this at all. How much more money would it take to make you a happy person? Another 25k? 30k?

You know, it costs nothing to have a positive attitude through life, but it is extremely costly to have a negative one.

I'm out.
