Why would I fake anything? Would it be to impress you or anyone else by saying I am a podiatrist? Funny that you ask me to talk about the surgical fixation of of hallux vulgus. How about discussing the different types of ways to correct this problem. Actually we could discuss Hallux valgus-metatarsus primus varus or how about performing a Girdletone-Taylor flexor-to-extensor tendon transfer.

I have always found interest in kelikian plantaris reconstruction, which is when the plantaris is cut proximally. After doing so it is harvested and suture-tagged proximally. Medial to the tendo calcaneus on the calcaneal insertion, make a 3cm incision. Use a tendon stripper to pass from proximal to distal. Make a calcaneal drill hole from medial to lateral which should exit just posterior and inferior to the distal fibula... shold I go on?

I am an expert in foot and ankle surgery. I teach these procedures to your possible-future foot doctor so he doesnt mess up.

If you are interested in podiatry (foot and ankle surgery) dont go the DPM route, go the ortho route. DPMs are failing at an alarming rate. Dont make this life changing mistake.
