THAT DARN AWFUL REALITYby pod (no login)Dear Sir, here is my two cents. If you get into this profession and are looking for a j-o-b you might have some serious problems upon graduation. However, if you have the b*lls to start your own practice you might have a chance to make a good salary (which you will EARN by working very hard. There is only one kicker with a medical degree. If it doesn't work out, you are still stuck with the student loans. They are like herpes which i am told is not much fun. It is most ironic that my podiatry practice has taught me so much about running a business. If I had known then what I know now I might have skipped the years of hardship and just bought a local business or franchise. Also, what is great about a business loan is that it is dischargeable with bankruptcy unlike student loans. Essentially the govt. has decided that if you get a medical education and then are not successful you are shi* out of luck. If you fail at another business, though, you get to start over. You can thank Mr. Bill Clinton for that one--What an *ss. good luck on your decision. from IP address 69.29.102.75 Goto Forum Home |
