a suggestion - cast aside the curmudgeon

1. The Podiatry profession is not perfect - most people know this (what profession is?)
2. Unlimited opportunities for everyone? of course not - most know this also. (also affects other professions in one form or another)
3. Its hard work, there is a huge loan to boot at the end of it.(see above)
4. When graduating, the hard work continues and the pay could be (much) better. Its a competitive world.... ok.(yawn - boo hoo)
5. Its a competitive environment all round - some will fall by the wayside, others will prosper greatly, most will be in middle ground somewhere.
6. It is not necessary to be a 'cheerleader' for the profession to recognize it has value for patients and the job satisfaction it can offer.
7. There are easier ways to amass money.....
etc etc etc etc etc etc

.... this list can grow....endlessly, tediously. Instead of reiterating the problems and casting gloom and doom whenever anyones posts anything even moderately suggestive of optimism, is it possible instead to focus on the fact that people WILL want to be Podiatrists (a good thing as people out there need them), and consider ways of helping each other overcome some of the obstacles? A supportive network, some collaboration perhaps ?
