Unfortunately, most medical schools dont ever even teach much about the foot, much less podiatry. Nevermind that they might go into talking about how well trained we are, simple fact is they dont really care! We are not on the radar except as a thorn in the side to some egomanic othopods.

It has been and will be always a challenge to educate the community, inclusive of even the medical community, of who we are and what we do. It's part of the challenge of being a good podiatrist. But if you think that the medical students and medical schools will ever get "trained" about us, sadly you will be frustrated from now on. Try to take these "opportunities" to educate your brethren. Most docs, and for that matter most people don't really care what we do until they need us. Then, when we can provide them with something they need, they learn!

Don't think that because some obscure radiologist in some dark room reading x-rays doesn't know that podiatrists do in any way limits thier ability to do it. Ignorance is not the same as stupidity!
