Military Service? NOT THAT BAD!by Military DPM (no login)The U.S. Armed Services (USA, USAF, USN) all have podiatrist. There is no current scholarship available to D.P.M.'s in the sense of having tuition books and stipend paid (like MD's and DO's). However, there are post graduate opportunities such as: US Army PM&S 36 at Ft. Bragg, NC Very good training in rearfoot, ankle and trauma. You are brought in as a Captain O-3 and given additional pay for living food etc... you are obligated to return a set ammount of active duty time after training. Active and Reserve Duty Each of the services have specialty leads for DPM. DPM falls under the rating of Medical Sevice Corp Officers (MSC), MD's DO's are considered medical officers, Nurses are nurse corp officers and so on. I encourage you to call these specialty leads and ask he/she about open billets and opportunities. A good strategy to think about before talking with a Medical Service Corp Recruitor is to think, signing bonus in the 50-100k range! All DPMs are brought in at the rank of O-3 GOOD LUCK and Semper FI! from IP address 4.36.236.82 Goto Forum Home |
