Thank goodnessby (no login)As a new student to podiatry,I was so pleased about your reply,I was trained by scholls uk as a footcare assistant and have always wanted to become a podiatrist,I think the negativity, does nothing to help young students or not so young in my case, there are plenty of other jobs and careers that are far worse and for little pay. Have we become obssesed by money instead of what we are doing for the publics health,yes we have trained and maybe spent alot of money, but the choice is ours personally if i hated a job so much i would have packed it in a long time ago, not waited 15 years. as a newbie i am sure I will learn the pitfalls the same as any other job. I dont think putting people off a career in podiatry will help the cause. by reading the earliest chiropody history, where they cut corns and yes toenails, perhaps it will be remembered it was seen as a rather distastefull job,how far have we come from then, now it is a respected career.
