why the human race has a desire for it's own self destruction?

yes ladies and gentlemen i admit a lil apocalyptic, however this is a very strange behavioural trait of our race. I don't know the real roots behing it possibly due to our competitive nature (the desire to survive) i'm interested to see people's opinion on this issue so post some replies.

There's nothing more exciting than the possibility that you have the ability to destroy something that you don't agree with. But everyone is different and if everyone had their way, then it's plainly obvious. There's no other choice than destruction, so you might as well do it WELL.
